Travel unleashes in us emotions that can help us in times of sadness. It awakens our endorphins the same as a good song, sports or when eating a chocolate.

Emotions begin with the preparations, so say 7 out of 10 people interviewed in a study of 17,000 people. (via La vanguardia)

Most of us like to take our bags and go on a trip, to escape monotony, work, the stress and routine. All in order to rest, have fun, to distract us …. Learning, knowing, changing, keeps us alive, aware of what we see and know. Travel is a gift that we make but much greater than we believe.

Our health also benefits: insomnia, sadness or depressions become lethargic, leaving behind all worries. Meeting people in other countries, learning from their customs or gastronomy opens our minds, broadens our borders and frees us from prejudices.

Traveling is a balm for our health, especially when traveling is related to vacations and pleasure!

But humanity has looked from its beginnings to explore the unknown, to venture and to find the new. To know and to explore. We humans are like that! Eager to discover, to go further … from the Romans through Cristobal Colón, Marco Polo …. the conquest of space is just around the corner, there is already talking of trips to Mars …

On April 12, 1961, the first space flight operated by a human being was made; it was a milestone in our history, the Russian Yuri Gagarin, manned a ship that sailed around the Earth’s orbit. 50 years later, in 2011, the UN General Assembly declares 12 April as International Day of Manned Space Flight and is celebrated in more than 34 countries “The Night of Yuri”.

Trips dislocate us, move our foundations to build new ones with more memories, new knowledge and experiences, take us out of our comfort zone and our routine, destroy myths and build truths.

Les voyages libèrent en nous des émotions qui peuvent nous aider dans des moments de tristesse. Ils réveillent nos endorphines comme une bonne chanson, un sport ou quand on mange du chocolat.
